Hi Shack
Got an odd one here. If I make an un-modified composite (poly plane) Prim Composer exports it with no errors
but when I try to upload with Maxport I get: 'Input string was not in the correct format.'
If I apply a modifier the plane uploads.
I wanted a large composite plane and worked round this by applying a noise mod with lowest possible settings.
I tried re-installing everything but get the same error. The error repeats with or without textures.
Thanks again for the great program, I'm having a lot of fun with it :)
Regards
Heb

*attached an image of the error because pipe maxport to a file didn't catch it.
*ps. Was wondering if you have thought of starting an SL group or an info area in world? We could all add it to our profiles.
I get folk asking 'how do you do that' so it might raise awareness for your work.

Hi Heb!
Thanks for reporting this! I see the error, too. The positions are getting corrupted when the prims are exported from 3ds Max.
It's probably related to the fact that a flat plane has no depth in the Z direction. This has caused problems before. It leads to division by zero and other weirdness. I'll fix it (ticket).
Thanks!

Starting with Maxport 1.3.1, it creates a log file called maxport.log. It also keeps log files for the last 10 executions of Maxport, labelled maxport.log.1, maxport.log.2, etc.
Sometimes the log file will have additional information that wasn't printed to the console.

These are both good ideas:
- Creating an SL Group for Prim Composer
- Having an in world info area
I'll start a discussion thread on this.
For example, before I create an SL group, I'd like to have a better idea of what people would want from it and how I should manage it. For example, I know first-hand that it can be annoying to have group chat come through when you're trying to work.

Great, hadn't noticed the new log.
I know what you mean about chatter, but I would like to keep up with releases and support your project in world as well.
Somewhere to point people for a visual display of what your fine tools can do must be a good start.
Blow them away!
Thanks Again.

Yeah, I agree.
BTW, a thread is up now to discuss this in more detail (link). I really appreciate the suggestion. Keep the ideas and bug reports coming!

I got the same 'Input string was not in the correct format.' message with normal sculpties and the new version of Primcomposer (before it was working fine)
After many tries, I used an alt account to upload and it worked fine.
I guess this is due to my oversized inventory, because I tried my main SL account totally naked, without any HUD and with a light inventory root, but same result.
Hope this helps

Fixed in 1.3.2 (releasing tonight).
France3d,
This particular error shouldn't have anything to do with SL or which account you use. This is caused by an error in the XML file that is generated from 3ds Max.
