Hi,

im trying to use Composite Sculpty but i got an interesting error.

http://www.gramatak.com/files/…..export.jpg

As you can see, if i export the whole composite Model there is (very) much deformation, but if i export only a element from this (no matter if cloned element, or simply delete all other elements in the original object) it looks good (not perfect but good enough).

Here exactly what i have done for the Original Object:

- Creating composite Model with X = 8 Y = 6 and LOD Level 1

- Deleting some of the unneeded elements (The composite Object now consists of 26 Plane Sculptys)

- Modeling a bit

- Cloned 2 Elements (so i got 1 more on each site, sould be no problem, deformation also without that)

- Adding Modifier “MeshSmooth” with Iterations 2

Then for the Cloned Test (see picture)

- Clone 1 Element from the Original Model as a new Object

- Convert new Object to a Sculpty Mesh

- adding Modifier “MeshSmooth” with Iterations 2

or

- deleting all other Elements exept 1 from the Original Mesh

- adding Modifier “MeshSmooth” with Iterations 2

There is no difference if i Clone or Delete, the Result is the same.

Also i made all Renders and Ex-Imports in the Same Scene without changing Preferences or something.

So why deform the Composite Object so much? Is it to Huge or simply somekind of Bug?

Ok i got it.

The Problem is how a Composite Sculpy work. For a Single Sculpty the Sculpty Map will use the Bounding Box of that single Sculpty to calculate the Mapcolours.

The Composite do the same, but use always the Bounding box of the whole Model, not of the single Element.

Look here: http://www.gramatak.com/files/…..xport2.jpg

current workaround:

- after modeling detach all Elements as new Objects

- convert all Objects to Sculptys

- set all Sculpty Objects to "Plane"

- export all single Objects as 1 selection (so the position will be stored)

Well this Method is not perfect, because of the little always noise (or is there some way i can eliminate that?) the surface borders dont fit 100% (look at the Picture)
