Hi all. well i am running into a few problems  with Lighting my build ( small home )

When i put a Daylight system( with mr photo. exposer )  then try to light the inside of the house with omnis – Once i jump into render preview, the Omni lights are not showing / shadowing.

I have been messing around with lighting options forever. wondering if anyone has any imput about what lights to use and how to get nice shadows.

Thanks

Hello Venessah,

I assume you are using mental ray for your rendering?

Check my render/bake tutorial here for some tips: http://amis.diinoweb.com/files…..baking.rar

There is no easy way to explain you how to light a scene. You can check few things like:

- Final Gather ( FG ) must be turned on – indirect illumination

- Omni lights must have shadows turned ON.

- Sometimes you may need to turn on GI ( global illumination ) again in Indirect illumination menu.

Best solution is to search google for interior lighting with 3ds max and mental ray , there are allots of nice tutorials and they will explain things allot better with pictures or video.

Wish you luck.

Best regards
