Hello,
I am trying to test out the export process from prim composer to SL by using the maxport.exe file. I don't own any land so I went to a public sandbox area and tried to run the program on my .xml file. Everything works fine (logs in, etc) up to the actual rezzing part and then it fails on <OBJECT CREATE NOT ALLOWED> since I don't own the land.
I tried –force since I am able to build on it but that didn't work either I had no plan to buy land just yet but I wanted to see just how easy it was to do the export process. So is it not possible to export without having a peice of land that I own? Even if I rent a peice I have a feeling i'll get a similar error.
Thanks!

<OBJECT CREATE NOT ALLOWED>
Hi TIm, im not sure to understand if you want to export from Max to SL, in this case import your project into SL, in that case, the answerd is no, you dotn need to own the lan, just to have permision to build or place object there, look for a sandbox or any place where you can build in world, one you go there, go to the center of the land, and log out, and them try maxport with the default options, thats works for me

If you are in a public sandbox that allows everyone to rez objects, then this shouldn't happen. Is it possible that your avatar was near the sandbox, but not actually in it?
Try this. Login to SL. Go to the sandbox. Rez a prim near your avatar. If that works, logout and then run maxport. It should work.
NOTE: <OBJECT CREATE NOT ALLOWED> is a message that maxport generates when it determines that you do not have permission to create objects. It doesn't have anything to do with whether or not you own the land.

Thanks guys, I tried this in another sandbox and it works perfectly! This is very awesome. Now I just need to see the limitations of texturing and what is allowed from 3dsmax to sl.

Really no so much limitations, if you use Bake textures, you can even bake light and shadows with mental ray render engine, real amazing.
