Heb Dexler suggested a couple of things in another thread.
*ps. Was wondering if you have thought of starting an SL group or an info area in world? We could all add it to our profiles.I get folk asking 'how do you do that' so it might raise awareness for your work.
And I agree that it might be useful to have an SL group and/or a place in world that is dedicated to Prim Composer.
This led me to wonder about what other things might be useful to the community.
For example, an image gallery has been suggested (link). I'm working on that. There is a good plugin called PhotoSmash that I'm in the process of integrating into the website. The only sticky point right now is that I'd like to put the gallery inside a forum thread and I need to do some work to make that happen.
But perhaps you have other ideas of things that would make life easier for you. Let me know.
Specifically, with regard to the SL Group, it would be helpful to know how people would like it to work. For example, I could make announcements when a new version of Prim Composer has been released. When a new tutorial is available. etc. What kind of information would you like to see on that channel?
Also, it's possible that an SL Group could be used for chat. for newbs to ask questions, etc. Personally, this has little appeal to me. It is much easier for me to respond to questions through the forums where everything is archived. I'm also not crazy about getting IMs while I'm working. But if folks think that this would be useful, then I'll set one up. Just don't expect me to have a very large presence there.
With regard to an in world info center, would this be useful to you? What kinds of things would you like to see there? I have a couple of ideas, but I'd really like to know what ideas the community has about it. What should be displayed there? What kinds of exhibits? etc.
And as I said before, if you have other ideas of things that would be useful for the community. This is the place to share. I'm open to just about anything.

A couple of ideas that I'll throw out.
I've recently gotten engaged again with Snapzilla. Some of the best snapshots I've seen recently are in my Recent Picks Album. If folks wanted to submit snapshots to Snapzilla, I could collect them in an album.
Also, I don't really use flickr, but if folks would like a flickr group, I'd be glad to create one.
Other social sites? Twitter, Facebook, etc.
I don't currently use Twitter, but I have thought about using it as a place to make announcements and the like. Anyone twittering out there? Shack has a Facebook page, but I haven't found a use for it yet, LOL.

Well, i really like the idea about make a group. can be usefull inclusive for you Shack, to havent to repond all these ims lol.
A plave for all? mmmmm, can be usefull also. A sim for sandbox, especially dedicated to people that use prim composer. A quick place to find the answer from your questions directly talking with others members and seeing examples. Also have some "teachers" for newbs and these tipes of things.

Hello,
In-world group is a great idea. I really want to meet in-world more people from this community.
Best regards

This makes me think about events.
If people are interested, I could organize some in-world events. Everyone, please reply if you would be interested in attending events and what kinds of events you would be interested in: lecture, demonstration, social, etc.
For newcomers, I could probably put together an in-world tutorial/demonstration event. For more experienced people, we could have show-and-tell kinds of things.
I don't have a sim in Second Life. I have an 8K lot. So, demonstrations would need to be limited to what can be rezzed on that size lot. If anyone knows about inexpensive or free sims that can be scheduled for events let me know.
Eventually, I will have a sim on some OpenSim grid.

Hello,
Personally i think an in-world group for a start will be great. This will give us opportunity to meet and to see how big exactly is this community. If we want we can meet on sandboxes , now with 4000m supported, there is allot of space even on public ones. Beta grid is available too , and with Meerkat viewer we can bring even 0 day projects there and upload them for free. If there is enough people , events like , presentation of projects , tutorials and guides will be great. Looking forward for some development on this subject.
Best regards

I don't know if you wanted features as well, but just in case, here goes:
A Windows GUI for MaxProxy (I have been using a Batch file to launch it, but would be nice to tick the options I want). I hate CLIs, just too slow, and I always seem to be in a hurry nowadays.
An indication of what assets PrimComposer did NOT convert (such as anims, scripts, in fact anything in the Contents tab of the prims), just as a reminder of what needs to be put back.
At present Primcomposer will say something like: 27 of 43 prims saved (the others being prims not created by the user). It would be nice to have a list of these, again as a reminder of what parts of a build need to be replaced.

Shack, I didn't want to suggest anything that would take up too much of your time but I do think it would be good to have a basic group for announcements and maybe group invitations between members.
Your forum help and website documentation is the business, and rather than repeating any of it in world I think a small info area could be a good bridge to here, with an outline of your project, showcase and web link. Possibly teleport pads to vetted examples of user work? Once a user group has built up events might evolve naturally.
The idea came to mind as I would like to proudly put Prim Composer in my SL profile. Also I think it would be good to have somewhere to point avatars that has visual impact. At present without going past the first pages of your website and forum submissions people can't instantly see what's possible with your software.
Anyway, enough ramble, no problem if you don't have time. Couldn't be happier already.
Thanks again for all your work!
